Background
The impetus for A Touchy Subject came from a request from South Australian TAFE, Equal Opportunities Unit for Vitalstatistix to produce a worksite performance and discussion programme on sexual harassment.
A Touchy Subject was written be a discussion-starter and was highly successful and in demand for live performances in 1987-1988, touring to worksite in Adelaide, country South Australia, Queensland, and Perth. The constant demand for the production led Vitalstatistix to produce a video of A Touchy Subject as a resource when the Company stopped touring the production.
Funding for the writing and production costs of A Touchy Subject was received from The Equal Opportunities Unit of T.A.F.E., Department for the Arts, Youth Performing Arts Council, The Office of the Commissioner for Equal Opportunities, The Youth Bureau and Participation and Equity Programme (P.E.P.) and the Corporation of the City of Port Adelaide.
